The InsTech.ie Foundry was created to help support InsTech.ie’s goal to position Ireland as a vibrant test bed for insurance innovation, by creating an insurtech ecosystem that works collaboratively to advance innovation and create value.

InsTech.ie want to encourage and inspire insurtech entrepreneurs that are helping to solve problems facing the insurance industry in Ireland and abroad.

What does the programme cover?

The InsTech.ie Foundry Pre-Accelerator programme is a founder centered, intensive (but fun), motivational, hands-on demanding 7 module programme, mixing in-person sessions and online mentor support.

It is designed to be flexible to enable those in employment to integrate it into their current circumstances.

We have assembled a strong experienced team to deliver the programme, led by a successful Insurtech founder and supported by the InsTech.ie mentor and Furthr mentor panels.

The InsTech.ie Foundry will run from September 2025 - March 2026, with seven sessions taking place in-person in the Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin 8.

About the Foundry

  • The InsTech.ie Foundry is Ireland’s dedicated platform for accelerating innovation in insurance. It’s designed to discover, support, and scale the next generation of Irish Insurtech startups that are transforming how insurance works — from underwriting and claims to distribution and customer engagement.

  • The InsTech.ie Foundry is an initiative of InsTech.ie, Ireland’s innovation network for the insurance sector, with support from key industry partners and innovation enablers. It is delivered in partnership with Furthr who have supported early stage start-ups for over 35 years.

Eligibility & Application

  • We welcome early-stage startups, entrepreneurs, and teams with innovative ideas, products, or technologies that can positively impact the insurance sector. You don’t need to be incorporated yet, but you must be serious about building a scalable business in the Insurtech space.

  • The InsTech.ie Foundry is focused on developing Irish innovation, so we’re especially interested in Irish-based founders or startups committed to growing from Ireland. However, strong international teams with a connection or commitment to Ireland may also be considered.

  • We’re interested in solutions across the insurance value chain, including but not limited to:

    • Digital underwriting

    • Claims automation

    • Embedded insurance

    • AI-driven risk analytics

    • Fraud detection

    • New distribution models

    • Customer experience enhancement

    • ESG and Sustainability

  • Successful applicants will benefit from:

    • A structured accelerator programme

  • There is no fee to participate. The Foundry is backed by InsTech.ie and its partners to support the development of Irish Insurtech.

  • No. The InsTech.ie Foundry programme does not require equity in participating startups.

How to get involved?

  • Complete this application form. You’ll need to provide some basic information about your team, idea, and what you’re hoping to achieve.

  • We review all applications and shortlist teams for interview. Final participants are selected based on the potential of their solution, strength of the team, and alignment with insurance innovation needs.

  • The next InsTech.ie Foundry programme will kick-off on 18th September 2025. Applications will close on 26th July 2025.
